This is a very rough outline of the route that we will be following during our trip - more detail can be found by clicking on the links to the right. 

Essentially we are driving down to Paris (oh, alright...DisneyLand Paris), then on to Alsace and the Black Forest before picking up the Danube and following that through Regensburg, Vienna and Budapest. From Hugary we enter Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey. We plan to have at least a month in Turkey before we enter Iran and then it's Pakistan, India, Nepal, India again, Singapore (Hector by boat, Mark and Amy by plane), Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and then back down to Singapore for more boats to Indonesia and then Australia. Below is a rough timetable of which country we plan to be in when:

At the moment the plan is to stay in Australia for a year, and then (if the money hasn't run out by then and Hector is still in one piece) to ship out to South Africa for the return "Cape to Cairo" journey. However, this bit of the journey is by no means set in stone at the moment - things may well change by the time we're thinking of coming home.
